Programme Manager Jobs
Programme managers are different to project managers, although many of the skills overlap. People in Programme Manager jobs have the responsibility of managing a variety of on-going projects and are usually placed in a more strategic position. They can be permanent or contract roles and have the responsibility of implementing business strategies via the projects they oversee.
The challenge for them is also managing multiple stakeholders, often at a very senior level and multiple teams working under different projects. For programme management jobs, in addition to the project management capabilities that are needed, commercial acumen is necessary, as are leadership skills. Much of the role is focussed around communication amongst different stakeholders, so an understanding of marketing is often very useful.
