Work has begun on 111 new affordable homes at Edinburgh's Waterfront, it has been confirmed.
At a cost of £11.7 million, it has been announced that the new development at Ocean Drive East, Western Harbour, Newhaven will be a mix of social rent and mid-market rent properties.
Keith Anderson, chief executive of PoLHA, the firm responsible for the development, commented: "This is a major development for the association and for the Waterfront as a whole.
"Through an effective partnership process, we now have a very exciting development to offer the people of Edinburgh."
There is, he explained, an ever-increasing need for affordable housing in the Scottish capital.
In addition to this, Mr Anderson observed that it is important the authority continues to develop and regenerate the Waterfront community.
PoLHA has confirmed that 58 properties will be let as social rent, while the remaining 53 homes will be available for mid-market rent.
