Background
Our client is currently recruiting for a Technical Project Manager for a 6 month contract based in London. The Programme's objective is to develop and implement modern, national systems within their Central Government Sector. The programme has completed its design stage and is well advanced in terms of technical development and is now actively planning for business deployment (early 2013). Integral to successful delivery is ensuring the systems remain aligned both in terms of over-arching technical design and in terms of implementation.

Main Duties/ Responsibilities
This role, which forms part of the Programme's TDA function, is accountable for ensuring the integrity of core system interfaces being delivered. The role spans the entire ICT delivery lifecycle - i.e. from architecture and design; through to application and infrastructure build; through to test; and into Live Service. The successful candidate will demonstrate the correct blend of technical and project management experience.

Outputs/ Deliverables to be achieved
Design, Architecture Assurance and Delivery • Coordinate assessment of infrastructure capability • Responsible for scoping required Infrastructure / Application / Service improvements and defining change requests as required • Accountable for delivery of changes (including managing delivery from other team members) • Coordinate the assurance and review of changes • Responsible for integration and testing of changes • Identify and manage risk and issues through to satisfactory completion • Accountable for delivery of the network routing for sharing data between strategic systems and for testing this connectivity under load • Work as part of the Programme's Technical Design Authority to assure design and architecture deliverables
