As the Presales Consultant, you will be joining a FTSE 100 company who employ over 45,000 people and is listed as one of the top 25 largest British companies in the world. Due to natural growth and restructuring within their IT Services Division they are looking to recruit a Networking Presales Consultant to join their leading major bid presales team. This role will be home based and will include supporting the team of 70 plus IT sales professionals and will involve you travelling to customer sites across the UK to support the sales process working with cutting edge technologies.

The role as Presales Consultant will include:

• Acting as an important member of a presales technical design and consultancy service, supporting new business opportunities across the Products and Solutions area, engaging directly with external clients
• Tailoring our IT services and solutions to meet specific customer needs
• Owning all technical content and costing for all solution designs, proposals and quotations
• Visiting external customer sites with the account managers and others members in the sales team on a regular basis in order to help secure deals
• Liaising with the relevant departments to agree implementation and project management costs and timescales for all Product and Solutions' proposals
• Liaising with our key technology partners to maintain knowledge of latest products and their applications and refine the solution sets to take account of these developments.
• The production of appropriate collateral, including technical write-ups, bill of materials, diagrams and costing where appropriate

Key Responsibilities

•Reviewing customer requirements
•Involved in complex technical discussions
•Owning and acting as technical lead on major bids
•Attending high-profile customer meetings
•Assisting bid teams respond to PQQ's, RFI's, ITT's etc
•Providing comprehensive technical write-ups
•Creating viable and cost-effective technical solutions
•Formulating high-level technical designs
•Creating Scope of Work outline
•Providing detailed Bill of Materials
•Producing detailed technical proposals
•Working with tier-1 vendors & suppliers
•Defining and ratifying detailed implementation tasks
•Determining technical resource requirements
•Managing governance & handover to delivery teams

Seeking applicants with the following:

• Ideally previous IT Presales and bid management experience
•Knowledge in across a broad range of IT technologies.
•Knowledge of a formal design methodology
•Deep understanding of solution scaling & complex design
•Experience of designing Network solutions based on products and services from tier-1 vendors
•Demonstrable track record of designing and costing solutions for external clients
•Customer facing experience
• Experience with all or most of the following: Cisco, HP, Meru, Clearswift, Watchguard, Checkpoint, RSA SecureID
• Experience with Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks
• Experience with Data Centres Networking, Network Security, VPN & Remote Access, Local & Metro Wireless, Telephony and Unified Communications
• Experience and exposure to engaging with multiple WAN carriers (e.g. Virgin, BT, AT&T, C&W)
•Ability to present to large audiences
•Flexible to travel around the UK
•Able to work individually and as part of a large team
•Clear and confident communicator with ability to present in front of customers
• Willing to undergo CRB check if successful
• Additionally experience of infrastructure (server/storage) products and technologies in both data centre and distributed computing is desirable
