Overall Purpose of Post
We are seeking to appoint a flexible Learning Support Assistant with a "can do" attitude for a 1-year contract to start in September.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities
You will work under the instructions of the SENCO/Classroom Teacher, usually in the classroom, to support access to learning for pupils and provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. You will also deliver support programmes in 1:1 or small group situations as well as strategies for pupils with specific needs. You will undertake pupil record keeping as requested and report to the class teacher on pupil progress as agreed. You will be part of an outstanding school making a major contribution to the schools' continued success.

Experience - Essential/Desirable
- Recent experience of working with or caring for children of secondary school age

Skills - Essential/Desirable
- Good Literacy and Numeracy skills - Ability to relate well to children and adults - Ability to work constructively as part of a team, understand classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position in these. - Ability to take on basic clerical duties, eg photocopying, filing and record keeping - Excellent communication skills, verbal and written - Flexibility to take on other tasks as and when requested and possess a "can do" attitude.
