Improving the quality of teaching and learning:
Initial teacher training and induction provides you with the essential skills you need to be effective but learning and developing does not stop there. Keeping your knowledge of curriculum subjects up-to-date, being able to make the most of new technologies or developing the skills required in different teaching or leadership positions all require continuing professional development (CPD).
Having recently completed a major review of our current provision, we have introduced a new integrated training programme for supply teachers. Feature include:
- In depth subject coverage, specifically designed to aid supply teachers to improve teaching and learning in the classroom
- Free training delivered by highly qualified education consultants and training associates
- Free refreshments and lunch
- High quality venues with an option to use hotel leisure facilities following training, wherever possible
- Trainers provide contact details to ensure post-course support is available
- Free training support notes, reading lists and, if appropriate to the course, CD Roms containing worksheets and resources for classroom use
- Advice and support on developing a CPD profile (Click here for further information on your Professional Development Profile)
- Courses are run on Saturdays, during holidays or as twilight sessions to ensure paid work does not have to be missed
Features include:
- Literacy and Numeracy Key Stage 1, 2 & 3.
- Classroom Management/Challenging Behaviour
- Special Educational Needs
- Induction Course – for all newly arrived overseas teachers
In addition to the training, you can meet other supply teachers to share experiences, support and resources.
In the meantime, don’t forget that all Capita offices are equipped with Teacher Resource Centres containing a wide choice of worksheets, access to the internet and photocopying facilities. |
