Our philosophy of Recruitment

Our business succeeds by having the best services delivered by the best people. We think we’ve got that covered but we don’t sit and congratulate ourselves. We are continually looking at ways to freshen our service by listening to what our clients are asking for. By maintaining the best services and the highest levels of service our challenge is to ensure that our customers know what we are about; what we can do for them. That’s where sales come in – that’s where you come in.

This culture, to put the customer first, isn’t just for the sales team. It’s a job for the whole of the company - for sales, for marketing, for finance and for the top brass. But you are the front line. It’s your job to let our customers know how good our business is – why we’re the best. As our National Operations Manager Simon Taylor says, “It’s not just about selling, it’s more than that. It’s about communication. It’s about attitude. It’s about making it happen”.

Selling isn’t easy, however. Giving things away is easy. Giving things away makes us one of the crowd and makes a commodity out of what we think is a value-added service. Selling is much more than that. It’s about providing a service to our customers that will offer them great value and make their place of work a better place to be. If you can master that then there are great rewards not just for you but for the company.

We celebrate our successes at Capita. Whether it’s as a business, as a team or individually we like to recognise when something is done well. Our best performers get our best rewards and as you can imagine that leads to a healthy state of competition. Strong competition ensures we are never off the pace – it’s what fuels us.

There are opportunities at Capita for you to progress as high as your aspirations take you. You’ll be part of an energetic team, dedicated and enthusiastic. A team that takes its responsibilities seriously and strives to be the best.

Driven to Succeed

We recruit people at Capita based on attitude. Knowledge of the business can be learned –  attitude can’t. If you’re not already the best sales person but you have the potential to be the best  that’s what we’re interested in. It’s about talent and hard work. The rewards are there for the taking if you have the basic talent we are looking for and are prepared to earn your stripes.

We believe in the team. We don’t need a new Consultant in this city or that town. It’s not about numbers – it’s about building a capable team no matter how long it takes. Once we have the right person we aim to develop them, coach them, make them successful. Successful for themselves and successful for us. That starts from the first minute of your induction.

Driven to Perform

By now you will have noticed a pattern. We are dedicated and enthusiastic about what we do. We aim to keep being successful at Capita. It’s this mentality that puts us beyond other recruitment companies and makes us stand out.

We have high expectations and expect continuous growth from all our Consultants. However, we are also fair. The senior managers in the business have all worked as recruitment consultants in CER and we know what is and isn’t possible.

Targets are always stretching yet achievable.  We won’t pay you a bonus or commission for maintaining or shrinking your business, but we will pay you for getting it to grow by what we know is an achievable amount.

Entrepreneurial Spirit

We want everyone in Capita to feel that they have a real stake in the business; that they can shape their own future and make their own success. We want you to have the mentality of a small business owner with the support and backup to make the most of the opportunities on your desk.

A learning culture

In every aspect of our business we keep on learning. Sometimes we don’t get it right, sometimes mistakes are made – but we learn from it. It’s how we get better.

Shared commitments

When you join us we’ll be making a commitment to each other. You’re committed to success and we’re committed to making sure this is the only place you will ever want to work.

Still reading? Then you’re the sort of person we’re interested in. If it looks too much like hard work our competitors are waiting for you. We can’t be the best by accepting second best. That’s why we reward people for being successful; for contributing to our success. We don’t hide our ambition, our drive to succeed; we shout about it.
