Working together for safer recruitment.
Capita Recruitment Vetting Service has been selected to act as a CRB Umbrella Body in England and Wales and as a Disclosure Scotland Umbrella Body to process checks for Potential Driving Instructors (PDIs) in Great Britain on behalf of the Driving Standards Agency (DSA).
All potential driving instructors need to have a criminal record check prior to starting the qualification process as part of the “fit and proper” process. However, if you fall within any of the following categories you should approach DSA before applying for your criminal record disclosure from Capita Recruitment Vetting Service:
· if you have any endorsements or fixed penalty points on your driving licence,
· if you are disabled in any way that means that you can only drive cars with an automatic transmission, or manual cars which have special adaptations fitted,
· if you do not hold a full GB, Northern Irish or EU car driving licence,
· if you have not held it for at least four out of the last six years, or
· if you have been disqualified from driving at any time in the last four years
